I attempted to recite 10,000 Digits of Pi over 8 shows at the Toronto Fringe. I failed miserably and got through only 2,083 digits. I will start at the 2,084th digit and attempt to recite the next 1,000 digits.
Every time I make a mistake, or I am going too slow, I will do a punishment suggested by the audience. If I don't get through 1,000 digits you get to pie me in the face! I wrote a computer program so you can follow along and know when I get the digits wrong.
This show sounds lame? WELL GUESS WHAT PEOPLE LIKED IT AT FRINGE!
"the only show truly deserving of #fringeto 's #toshocuttingedge is 10000 digits of pi. not a play, but an event. dramaturgically fool proof. dude just recites pi until he fails and you get to punish him. legit the most excited I've been in a theatre in years." - Aaron Jan
"10,000 Digits of Pi shouldn’t work as a show, but it does. You root for Vinay as he recites the numbers, and cheer as he reveals memorization secrets and does audience-determined punishments when he fails. An energizing, @Toronto_Fringe-only experience. @CTCAreviews @BWW_Toronto" - Ilana Lucas (CTCA Reviews, Broadway World)
"This is one of those shows that blurs the line between audience and performer, and makes you wonder if it’s a play or even a comedy show altogether. It’s a nice respite from the otherwise formality of theatre." - Patron and Pearl
