Play is joy! Melissa will guide you on a journey to expand your imagination and find play in the mundane.
This workshop will:
give an introduction to clown/play work
teach you how to incorporate clown elements into your performances
give tools to heighten play using physicality (within your capacities)
dive into the absurd!
explore the magic of the small joys in the everyday!

Melissa (she/her) is a clown, comedian, writer, and artist based in Montreal, originally from Toronto. Melissa is healthily obsessed with clown work.
Melissa produces comedy shows, runs workshops and performed her clown act Real Live Doll at Montreal Sketchfest 2024. She’s been part of comedy festivals in Toronto, Montreal and Ottawa.
She has studied clown and idiot work with Ken Hall, Isaac Kessler, Kevin Krieger, John Gilkey, Amrita Dhaliwal & Gemma Soldati and has extensive training in improv from Second City Training Centre (Toronto), Bad Dog Theatre Company (Toronto), The Assembly (Toronto) and Montreal Improv.
